Birthday gifts: The participant may receive thoughtful gifts based on their interests, needs, and preferences.
Personalized celebration: Each birthday celebration may look different depending on the participant’s comfort level, schedule, and family input.

Christmas Event Vote

Planned date: Saturday, December 12, 2026

For Christmas, ESS will allow participants to vote on what type of holiday celebration they would prefer. This keeps the event participant-centered and gives everyone a voice.

Option 1: A Christmas party with food, activities, music, and time together as a group.
Option 2: A personalized gift basket made around each participant’s likes, needs, and interests.
Participant choice: ESS will collect participant votes and use the results to plan the holiday event.

Annual Participant Outing

Planned date: Sunday, January 24, 2027

The annual participant outing is a special ESS tradition where participants get the chance to enjoy a major community outing together, free of charge to participants.

Possible locations: Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, Six Flags, museums, aquariums, or other major community attractions.
Changes yearly: The location may rotate each year so participants can experience different places over time.
No cost to participants: ESS plans these outings so participants can enjoy the experience without paying for admission.

Safety & Coordination Comes First

Before any ESS event or outing, participants and families will receive detailed instructions for safety, transportation, meeting times, food planning, supervision, emergency contacts, what to bring, what not to bring, and any other important coordination details. ESS will make sure participants and families understand the plan before the event takes place.

Participant-Centered Planning

ESS events are planned with participant choice in mind. Some participants may enjoy large group events, while others may prefer quieter, more personalized celebrations. ESS will consider comfort level, support needs, accessibility, transportation, family input, and each person’s preferences when planning events.

Family & Support Team Updates

Families and support teams may receive updates before events, including dates, locations, expectations, permission details when needed, and any safety notes. ESS will also provide reminders as events get closer so everyone has enough time to prepare.
